Fraktura Studio is the story of fusion and individuality. A combination of Futura, one of the most regarded modern typefaces, and of Fraktur - a highly regarded and historically significant style of calligraphy.

It is easy to think in this day and age that it would be best to separate the two - trying to appeal and sell to two very different audiences of people. In this hyper-technological era we find ourselves in, Fraktura fusion is more relevant now than ever.

Like my own brand, Fraktura Studio offers collaborators (AKA YOU!), a chance to combine digital and analogue techniques, for design outcomes that truly feel like they encapsulate the personality and core values of your project. This could look like a custom piece of hand lettering or a custom illustration or pattern. Calligraphy clients can rest at ease, knowing that every commission and job is approached with strategy, communication and the attention to detail that many years in the design industry prioritises.

As for me, I have over ten years of experience working in advertising studios, in house as a graphic designer and in graphic design studios too. I’ve worked on a full spectrum of outcomes, including point of sale, branding and strategy, social media management, packaging and more. I also have a strong passion in calligraphy and hand lettering, and have experience with envelope addressing, place name calligraphy and wedding stationery. I have exhibited work and am a proud member of the New Zealand Calligraphers Society.
